Usability Tests
Usability tests are conducted to ascertain the level to which users can learn and make use of an interface.
Prototyping
Prototyping is the process of creating test models or “mock-ups” to gather preliminary findings. Sometimes prototypes can be sophisticated enough to gather useful enough information that the final design does not need to be tested. In some cases, the manufacturing process is so expensive, all the testing needs to be completed in the prototyping steps.
Heuristics
Heuristics is more than a fancy word for guidelines.
